Medina Students Help MAAC Fill its Pantries over Holidays

The generous nature of the Medina High School students benefited the Medina Area Association of Churches (MAAC) in their mission to help out the area’s neediest families.  Every year the students collect canned and boxed food items for the group’s pantries.  To make it more exciting a contest is held where the teacher who collects the most items from their students wins the coveted “Canley Cup.”  This year’s recipient was math teacher Scott Benson, whose students gave him 600 items, with French teacher Julie Webber coming in second place with 400 items.  Over 1000 total items were collected.

“It is the greatest thing to see everyone at our school helping out someone in need,” says Mrs. Webber.  “I think it is awesome how our students pull together to help out their community."
